Wal-Mart/Harris Teeter at Crescent Commons Shopping Center

None of the four entrances to Crescent Commons Shopping Center offers good access to pedestrians. A hotel, numerous office buildings, and high-density residential developments neighbor this site.

One of four entrances to Crescent Commons. Shrubs on both sides force pedestrians to share the narrow access road with vehicular traffic.

Another view of the same entrance to Crescent Commons. Sidewalks on Kildaire Farm Road lead past the property but do not connect with the parking lot or storefronts.

A different entrance at Crescent Commons. Boulders and shrubbery mark the end of the sidewalk.

A third entrance at Crescent Commons. Little room exists for pedestrians to squeeze between these boulders and vehicles entering at speed from Tryon Road.

The intersection between Kildaire Farm Road and Tryon Road. Retail and office space exists on all four corners of this intersection, which has no crosswalk lights or painted crossing lines. Would-be pedestrians must cross a minimum of five lanes of traffic.
